Tax Benefits and Interprofessional Funds
Beyond the clear tax deductibility of training costs, companies can fully fund enrollment by leveraging corporate interprofessional funds.
- For Self-Employed Individuals (IRPEF)
Article 54, Paragraph V of the TUIR allows for a full deduction (up to a limit of €10,000) of expenses incurred for enrollment in Master’s programs, training courses, professional development modules, and conference registration fees, provided that ex ante, the expenses incurred for VAT purposes match the training objectives and remain instrumental to the professional activity practiced.
- For Companies Subject to IRES (Corporate Tax)
Pursuant to Article 100, Paragraph I of the TUIR, expenses related to works and services utilized by employees (or specific categories of employees) for education, instruction, hospitality, healthcare, or religious worship are deductible up to a maximum limit of 5/1000 of the total employee benefit expenses reported on the corporate tax return.
- Interprofessional Funds
The regulatory provision introduced by Law No. 388 of 2000 allows companies to allocate 0.30% of their mandatory INPS contributions to one of the 22 Joint Interprofessional Funds recognized by the Ministry, utilizing the standard Uniemens form.
